Ka-ching! You got an app notification or Tapas Inbox message about some free bonus coins – sweet! But wait, where are they?
When you receive bonus coins from us, they're automatically added to your coin balance immediately – whether or not you see the notification or read the message in your Tapas Inbox. Unlike free episodes we send from time to time, there's no need to claim them first; they're instantly available to use.
We did this to make them easy to use and extra convenient (too convenient?), but realize it can be a bit confusing if you're new to Tapas.
If you think you're missing coins, don't panic. Instead, try checking a few things:
- Did they expire? Bonus coins expire, and disappear from your balance if you don't use them to unlock episode(s) before the expiration date. Whenever you receive an Inbox message with bonus coins, the expiration date will be listed next to the coin gift details in the message. If it says "bonus coins expired," then any of those coins that weren't already spent have been removed from your balance.
- Did you use them already? It's very possible to get some bonus coins, spend them unlocking episodes, and then see the message about receiving them in your Inbox. It can be tough to remember every coin you get or use, so we built a handy Transaction History to keep track of everything for you.
In the Android or iOS app, your Transaction History can be found under Settings on the main menu. On the web, simply click on your coin balance or the (?) in the Coin Shop. Every coin purchased and bonus coin received will be accounted for, along with whether they were used to unlock episodes, tip creators, or expired (sad!).
