Step 1: Create Episode
To publish an episode, you have to be on our desktop site while logged in to your account.
Go to Dashboard, Series tab and locate your series from the list. Click the Add Episode button ( ) to create a new episode.
Step 2: Add Title and Files
Enter your episode’s title and add your comic files using the Upload Files button. Make sure your artwork follows our Content Guidelines!
Page Size: 940 x 4000 px, PNG, JPG or GIF, Under 2 MB
Should your file not match our size or format requirements, our upload system will show you a message as seen above. Delete a file by clicking on the trash bin icon on the right.
You can reorganize your files by selecting an image row and then dragging and dropping it to the intended spot as shown here:
Step 3: Add Thumbnail and Description (Author Notes)
Add a thumbnail for your episode, which will show up in your episode list and help your readers distinguish the different episodes visually. Most creators use a snippet of artwork from that episode, others like to reuse the same artwork for multiple episodes. This artwork must be safe for all ages, and shouldn’t contain nudity or suggestive art.
Thumbnail: 300 x 300 px, PNG, JPG or GIF, Under 2 MB
You can also add a description, which will appear in your Author’s Comments section under your published episode. You can use this area to start a conversation with your readers, ask a question or share what’s on your mind! This is optional and you can leave it blank.
Step 4: Share Thumbnail, Tags and Background Music
When sharing individual episode links on social media, a share thumbnail will appear along with your link.
You are able to change and adjust this thumbnail by clicking on the preview image, and then moving the orange box to a position you like. You can use the large arrows next to your artwork to flip through your individual pages. Click on Use This to finalize your image (Note: If you have long pages, you may have to scroll down to see this button).
You can add up to 10 tags to your episode optionally. Hit enter after each tag to add them and hit the X to remove any tags you don’t want.
These tags will appear underneath your Author’s notes box, have no search functionality, and are therefore often used by creators to share some additional information with their readers.
You can add background music to your episode that readers can listen to while viewing. Simply click on “Add Music from Soundcloud”, do a search for a song, an artist or a genre and select your song from the list, then click Add.
Step 5: Comments and Mature Content
You can choose to turn off comments for your episode. Most creators leave their comments on, but you can turn them off if you want to. Alternatively you can also delete individual comments from your series.
If your episode contains mature themes, you have to turn on the mature filter. This includes strong language, gore or non-graphic sex and nudity. If you would like to see more details, please visit our Content Guidelines.
Step 6: Preview
Before publishing your episode, you can preview how it will look on desktop and mobile devices by clicking the preview button in the top right corner. It will open your episode in a new window and will allow you to review your work. It is recommended to ensure that your comic’s font is legible on both mobile and desktop, as many readers use our app!
Step 7: Schedule or Publish
Now that you’ve completed your episode, you have the option to either publish it right away, or use our scheduling feature to set up a time and date for it to be published automatically.
If you want to publish now, simply click the green Publish button. If you want to schedule, click the Schedule button and select your preferred time and date.
