If you're a creator who is interested in Premium, you can pitch us your novel per the submission guidelines below! Our submissions team will review your materials and if we think you're a good fit, we'll be in touch to discuss next steps.
Please include a cover letter in the body of your email and a writing sample (plus some more information about your novel) as an attachment.
In your cover letter, please include:
- Logline (sell your novel in 1 sentence)
- Genre(s) [main genre, secondary genres]
- Expected word count (and let us know if your manuscript is in-progress or complete)
- Target audience (who you think would love this series the most)
- A little bit about yourself, including relevant links if applicable (social media, other works, portfolio, etc.)
In your attachment, please include:
- Plot outline (200 - 400 words)
- Character descriptions (personality, character arc, any fun details) of your main characters
- First 5 chapters of your manuscript
Simultaneous submissions are acceptable, though we ask that you let us know in your cover letter if you’re submitting (or plan to submit) the novel elsewhere. If you want to submit multiple projects to Tapas, we ask that you send them one at time and then wait at least one week after a decision on one project before submitting another.
Please note that while we’re happy to consider both complete and ongoing projects (and we encourage you to submit your work to get it on our radar, regardless of status!), we’ll need a manuscript of at least 80,000 words before we consider your project for premium serialization.
Once you meet these guidelines, send us an email at email@example.com! If you’re a returning author, feel free to contact your account manager directly with your new pitch. A member of our team will be in touch in about 4–6 weeks if we're interested in moving forward with your project.
The beautiful thing about Tapas is that creators from around the world can share a wide range of ideas with a fantastic community. You may notice a fair amount of action fantasy and romance fantasy on the platform, and we do enjoy a good dragon or an epic battle now and again. We also love to fall in love with BL and any other kind of romance.
But we’re open to a good amount of genre fiction—romance, fantasy, drama, supernatural, paranormal, mysteries, and everything in between. We want to see well-rounded protagonists facing tough decisions and excellent supporting characters who have journeys and romances and obstacles of their own, and the narrative voice should be strong and consistent throughout. Give readers just the details they need to dive into the world of your characters and keep the plot moving forward at a quick pace. Your opening episodes especially should leave readers breathlessly awaiting more!
Don’t be afraid to blend ideas and cross genre boundaries. We’re excited to see what you come up with!
