Glossary

Bonus Ink is expiring Ink that may only be used to unlock episodes. Bonus Ink may not be used to support creators.

Bonus Ink may be delivered via the Inbox as part of special promotions, or received as rewards for certain activities like inviting friends to sign up using your Invite Code.

Bonus Ink is automatically added to your balance as soon as it is received, and any unused bonus Ink is removed on the expiration date.

Creator

 Artists, authors, and publishers with series on Tapas are collectively referred to as "creators." 

Episode

An episode is a bite-sized portion of story you can consume in 5 to 10 minutes. Episodes can be a single comic strip or page, a few pages of a written story, or a mini-chapter. A collection of episodes makes up a series. 

Episodes may be free or locked. Locked episodes require Ink or a free episode ticket to open and read. 

Ink

Ink is the in-app currency of Tapas, used to unlock episodes and support creators. 

Much like the ink in the pens of traditional comic artists and storywriters, Tapas Ink helps power digital creators and connect them with their readers.

Ink can be purchased in the Ink Shop, or earned in the Free Ink section.

Ink Shop

The Ink Shop is where Tapas Ink may be purchased, via Google Play or Apple iTunes in-app purchase.

Ink can also be earned for free in the Free Ink section, by watching video ads or completing other special offers (subject to availability).

The Ink Shop can be found on the main menu of the You tab in the app, or by tapping the Ink balance when on screens for supporting creators or unlocking episodes.

Invite Code

Everyone logged in to Tapas has a unique Invite Code, which may be shared when inviting others to join. 

When someone signs up for an account on a new device in the Android or iOS app, they can enter someone else's Invite Code and both people will earn bonus Ink.

The Invite Code can be found by tapping "Free Ink" on the main menu of the You tab in the app.  

Library

Bookmarked series are added to the library, a personal list of titles saved for reading later.

Adding a title to the library also subscribes to updates notifications for that series, which are sent whenever new episodes are added.

Series

A series is a collection of episodes, in either comic or written format.
