What is the difference between a Reading Event and an Unlock Event?

When participating in our Reading events, it's important to pay attention to what kind of event it is! Keeping this in mind will ensure that you reach the episode requirement which will allow you to be eligible for the ink reward.

Here on Tapas, we have two ways we have two different types of Events: Reading Events and Unlock Events. 

Reading Events

Reading Events are events that count all episodes that are read during the event duration. So if you've already unlocked an episode and you decide to re-read it during the duration of the event, that episode will count towards the overall episode goal!

All episodes that count towards an Unlock event also count towards a Reading event, which includes:

• WUF episodes that you unlocked during the duration of the event
• Episodes that are purchased during the duration of the event
• Watch ads for free episodes that are unlocked during the duration of the event
• Episodes that were purchased prior to the start of the event that you reread during the event
• WUF episodes that you previously unlocked during the duration of the event that you try to re-unlock (only the initial unlock would count towards the episode count)
• The couple of free episodes that are listed at the beginning of each series that you don't need to unlock using WUF or ink (these episodes are already considered to be unlocked

Unlock Events

Unlock Events are events that count all episodes that are newly-unlocked during the event duration. So if you've unlocked an episode during an event and you decide to re-read it during the duration of the event (or you unlock a WUF episode during an event, it re-locks and then you unlock the same episode again), that episode will not count towards the overall episode goal!

For an Unlock event, the only episodes that don't count are as follows:

• Episodes that were purchased prior to the start of the event that you reread during the event
• WUF episodes that you previously unlocked during the duration of the event that you try to re-unlock (only the initial unlock would count towards the episode count)
• The couple of free episodes that are listed at the beginning of each series that you don't need to unlock using WUF or ink (these episodes are already considered to be unlocked
