Ka-ching! You got an app notification or Tapas Inbox message about some free bonus Ink – sweet! But wait, where did it go?
When you receive bonus Ink from us, it's automatically added to your balance immediately – whether or not you see the notification or read the message in your Tapas Gift Box or Inbox. Unlike free episode tickets we send from time to time, there's no need to claim free Ink; the bonus amount is instantly available to use.
We did this to make it easy to use and extra convenient (too convenient?), but realize it can be a bit confusing if you're new to Tapas.
If you think you're missing Ink, don't panic. Instead, try checking a few things:
- Did it expire? Bonus Ink expires, and any unused drops disappear from your balance if you don't use them to unlock episode(s) before the expiration date. Whenever you receive an Inbox message with bonus Ink, the expiration date will be listed next to the gift details in the message. If it says "bonus Ink expired," then any of those coins that weren't already spent have been removed from your balance.
- Did you use it up already? It's very possible to get some bonus Ink, spend them unlocking episodes, and then see the message about receiving the gift. It can be tough to remember every drop of Ink you get or use, so we built a handy Transaction History to keep track of everything for you.
In the Android or iOS app, your Transaction History can be found under Settings on the main menu. On the web, simply click on your coin balance or the (?) in the Ink Shop. Every drop of Ink purchased and gift or reward received will be accounted for, along with whether they were used to unlock episodes, tip creators, or expired (sad!).
