Even though some Free Ink offers are available for most people most of the time, from time to time this will not be the case. We offer Free Ink offers as an alternative to paying for Ink, but unfortunately due to the nature of the service, availability is not guaranteed.
There are no video ads or other offers available for me
If you're not seeing any offers, ensure you're using the latest version of the Tapas app, then follow the instructions here to check your device settings and ensure you're not limiting ad tracking or blocking ads.
Video ads, demos, and other offers are provided by advertising partners, so unfortunately availability is not guaranteed. The reward amount for completing each offer also varies, based on the value set by the ad provider or offer sponsor.
Availability and reward amount are based on a number of factors, including your location, device advertising settings, time of day, the number of videos you’ve watched and engaged with previously, and the number of other people also watching videos.
If there are no video ads or other offers available, you can close the Ink Shop / Free Ink page and check back again later. If offers are still not available, then unfortunately the feature may not work for you due to your location, connection, or other unknown issues.
I watched a video or completed another offer, but didn’t get any Ink
D’oh! Not getting the reward you deserve after watching a video ad or completing another offer is a bummer, and we know it’s frustrating. Tapas passes along all of the Ink earned from watching a video directly from the advertisers to you, so you can use them to unlock episodes or tip creators. So if you didn't get Ink, it probably means we didn't get anything from the advertiser to give you.
Nine times out of ten (actually a lot more often than that), people get the Ink reward immediately after completing the video or offer. If you don’t, there are a few things to try:
- Close and reopen the Ink Shop / Free Ink to see if your balance refreshes.
- Completely close (“kill”) and reopen the Tapas app, then check your balance in the Ink Shop again.
- Check your Tapas Transaction History to see if the Ink was added. You can find your Transaction History in the Tapas app under Settings, or on the Tapas website by clicking on your Ink balance.
- Wait a while, and then check again in a few hours or the next day.
It's still not working
Since the offers and rewards are provided by various advertising partners, not Tapas directly, we’re unfortunately unable to offer detailed support or reply to individual requests for more video ads, special offers, or increased rewards.
If Free Ink offers aren't available for you, you'll either need to buy Ink in the Ink Shop, or wait for other special offers and opportunities to earn free Ink.
