How do I use an Invite Code?

Invite Codes help us grow our already terrific community of creators and readers, by rewarding you for sharing the Tapas app with your friends. When someone new downloads the Tapas app and signs up using your code, you'll both receive some bonus Ink.

How to find and share your Invite Code

Everyone who has a Tapas account also has a unique Invite Code, which can be found in the Android or iOS app in the Free Ink section. If you tap the "Invite friends" button, you'll be able to copy or share your code.

When someone signs up for a new Tapas account in the Android or iOS app, they'll have a chance to enter an Invite Code while setting up their profile photo and display name. If they enter your code, you'll both receive some bonus Ink. 

Note: You can share your Invite Code with as many people as you like, but only one code can be redeemed per device.

How to use someone else's Invite Code

If you've never had a Tapas account, you can use someone else's Invite Code to get some bonus Ink when you sign up in the Android or iOS app. 

After choosing whether to sign up using Facebook, Google, or an email and password, you'll see a screen where you have the option to set your profile photo, display name, and enter an Invite Code. If you don't see this screen, it probably means you previously created an account (in the app or on the web) and logged in to it instead of signing up for a new one.

If you enter someone's code in the "Invite Code" field while signing up, you'll both receive some bonus Ink. Sweet!

Note: If you're already logged in or signed up previously, there's no way to enter an Invite Code – it must be redeemed during sign up. Also, only one code can be redeemed per device, regardless of how many accounts are created on that device. 

Troubleshooting tips

• An Invite Code may only be entered when signing up for a new account in the Android or iOS app
• If you're currently logged in or signed up for Tapas previously, you may not redeem someone else's Invite Code (but you can share your code with others)
• Only one Invite Code may be redeemed per device, even if you create multiple accounts or share the device with someone else
• The bonus Ink received from sharing or redeeming an Invite Code expire after 60 days
